You likely have heard people contrast Christianity with rational thinking, but there is a lot of information you might learn in a college class that could be used to support much of what Christians think.

In fact, there is a lot of evidence-based information from the social sciences that supports what Christians think about how to live and treat people.

You have probably heard people talk about Christian thinking in contrast to rational and evidence-based thinking. Christianity certainly isn’t only about what can plainly be seen, but isn’t it still a little insulting to characterize Christian thinking as irrational? It’s certainly an example of the condescending way people can talk about Christianity. However, is it irrational to believe in treating people the way you would want to be treated?
Is it irrational to be forgiving or compassionate? An answer doesn’t even need to be given. In fact, there is a lot of evidence-based information from the social sciences that supports what Christians think about how to live and treat people.
In terms of believing in God, is it irrational to think that the universe was created? Many smart, scientific people have said they believe there is a creator. The idea of there being a designer behind the incredible complexity of the universe isn’t irrational at all.
