I'd Rather Be Awake

Christians, don't wish you thought differently so you could fit in.

Then, you wouldn’t be aware anymore.
Christians,
There are those of you who remember from the time of your childhood that you saw things so differently than others. You saw a principal telling one student not to shove your classmate into the wall and then heard the students whispering behind you, “That principal’s so mean.” You couldn’t understand it.
It isn’t that you think yourself better than anyone and the difference has actually pushed you from mainstream acceptance in many places you have been. However, don’t wish away your difference. Then, you wouldn’t be aware anymore.
You would be like in a daze, not really seeing things for what they were. You wouldn’t understand when someone was doing what was genuinely good at their own expense. You wouldn’t know when someone really needed help. You would see things backwards in many cases while not really understanding what was going on. Christians, I’d rather be aware, awake, and understanding even when it is difficult to be different.
