It is authentically liberal-minded to believe in gender equality.

However, the idea of gender equality can be misused in speech and action to achieve controlling and oppressive ends by someone with the kaino-oppressive mindset.
Christians,
One way people with the kaino-oppressive* mindset try to control and oppress others is by manipulatively using the belief in gender equality in their speech and actions, which makes such speech and actions come across as liberal-minded (this word is being used in its general, non-political sense). It is authentically liberal-minded to believe in gender equality itself. However, the idea of gender equality can be misused in speech and action to achieve controlling and oppressive ends by someone with the kaino-oppressive mindset.
Consider three college students, two women and one man. One of the students, Kate, is trying to put an unfair share of the work for a project on her group member Macy. Rick, also a member of the group for this project, notices that Macy agrees, but it seems to be because she is shy and Kate is being assertive. Rick says he feels the work should be more evenly distributed. Macy doesn’t respond but is glad Rick says that. Kate doesn’t like how Rick interferes with what she is doing. On the way out of class, Kate tells the instructor that Rick thinks “he is in charge of the group because he’s a guy.” The instructor later emails Rick, writing that he needs to be more of a "team player" according to "group feedback." Macy then ends up doing an unfair share of the work for the project.
Of course, it is wrong for a male student to think he can tell female students what to do because of his gender, but that isn’t what happens in the example. Also, it should be noted that a male student with the kaino-oppressive mindset can do to a female student what Kate does to Rick in other ways. The example with Kate shows how the belief in gender equality can be misused by someone with the kaino-oppressive mindset, and it also needs to be said that it is not uncommon for situations like the one above to happen.
