Should enlightened thinking involve making fun of people who believe in a living a life of love and hoping to be reunited with lost loved ones?

Part of what they are doing is pointing out that someone who is enlightened like they are wouldn’t believe stories they considered to be for children or those who thought on a lower plane.

Christians,

It isn’t uncommon for someone who feels they are an enlightened thinker to jokingly say something condescending about Christianity.  For example, they might jokingly say they genuinely believe that Santa Claus lives at the North Pole and that there is a God in Heaven. Part of what they are doing is pointing out that someone who is enlightened like they are wouldn’t believe stories they considered to be for children or those who thought on a lower plane.

However, is it enlightened to make fun of people who have beliefs about a loving God and hopes such as seeing lost family members once again in Heaven?  Would a person who thought deeply about life make fun of people that way?  Even if a person genuinely didn’t believe that there were a God, would an enlightened way to express that belief be to mock people who believed in God?

If anything, trying to make people feel ignorant or childish for believing in God would be the very opposite of enlightened thinking.  Wouldn’t it be a very hypocritical thing to do? However, you will definitely see people try to show you that they think on a higher plane by making fun of people for their faith in God.
