If you are going to live as a Christian in public, you will need to be ready to stand up for what you believe. If you do not genuinely love Jesus and believe in why the teachings of Jesus have value, it will be difficult for you support how you live and what you say. In fact, you will probably be turned away from Christianity yourself.
Do you genuinely love Jesus? He gave his life for you. Do you see the value of his teachings? He taught us about loving people without selfishness, which is the deepest form of love. It concerns the genuine good and happiness of others. He taught us about doing good for its own sake and not for rewards, which results in the deepest form of good. He taught us how to love people who are different from us. He taught us how to turn from ways that hurt other people and ourselves. He helped us understand that we can live even after the body dies, and he proved this himself. It is recorded in history.
Christians, some people will be astonished by the way you live and what you say while others will struggle against you. If you genuinely love Jesus and understand the value of what he taught us, you will help bring Christianity back into the public eye. If you do not feel you really know Jesus and do not see the profound worth of his teachings, you will probably be turned away from Christianity yourself.
Dedication is definitely hard to come by! It takes practice, consistent application, and passion.
