You're Not Leaving Alone

When we voice a concern about how we are being treated, we can be made to feel like we are the only one experiencing that problem because of a fault of our own.

However, if you end up needing to pack up your belongings and leave that system, don’t feel it is just you who is packing up and leaving.

Christian,

The day may come at work or another place when you try to voice a concern you have about a problem in the system you are in. You may be told that you are the only one having that problem and that it is happening because of something you are doing wrong.  In other words, it is not the system but you.   If you then say you feel you are basing your concerns on your beliefs as a Christian about how people should be treated, you may be told that no other Christians in the system are experiencing your concern.  According to them, it just seems to be you and something you’re doing wrong.  They may then ask you to pack up and leave as a result.

However, if you end up needing to pack up your belongings and leave that system, don’t feel it is just you who is packing up and leaving.  That sense of guilt you are made to feel with no allies can be heavy at this time but remember you are not the only one packing up your belongings.  Jesus packs up with you.

It is actually just you and him they are getting rid of.  Whatever people do to one of his downtrodden followers, they also do to him.  So, don’t feel alone on that day, Christian.  You two are walking out together.
