We Have Been Tricked Into Silencing Ourselves

Updated: May 6, 2020

Many of us are hesitant to mention God anymore, and others among us have forgotten about trying.

Friends, the insight I have to share with you in this post is that telling someone about God is not the same as forcing someone to believe in God.

It is not wrong to tell someone what you believe about God’s love. As Christians, we believe that every person is loved by God and that every human being has equal and inherent worth. We are not forcing ourselves on others by telling people about God’s love. Societal influences have made us feel like we are forcing people to believe what we do by even mentioning that we are Christian.

For how many years have we been made to feel that we are taking away the freedom of others to think by telling them about God? Many of us are hesitant to mention God anymore, and others among us have forgotten about trying. We have been tricked into silencing ourselves.

Friends, the insight I have to share with you in this post is that telling someone about God is not the same as forcing someone to believe in God. One reason I want you to have this insight is because you could change someone’s life forever by telling them about God. Do not let anyone rob you or that person of that experience. Next time you are talking with someone, would you mention that you are a Christian? Would you ask them if they are? If they aren’t, why don’t you tell them what you believe about God’s love.
