Not A Mechanical Higher Power

Could the designer of the universe not understand human emotion?

Imagine the designer of a laptop being handed a manufactured model of his design and being questioned about whether he really knew how it worked.

In contemplating the possibility of God, some conclude that there is some form of a higher power and designer behind the universe but that it doesn’t have or understand human emotion. However, as others have asked, how could this designer somehow be behind the design of the human heart without understanding emotion?

Imagine the designer of a laptop being handed a manufactured model of his design and being questioned about whether he really knew how it worked. That is not to say that the human heart is a computer, however. Concerning the point of the analogy, if the human heart was connected to a designer, the designer would understand emotions such as love and compassion.

It would make sense to conclude that if there were a higher power that this force would understand emotions such as love that are ascribed to the being called God. Whereas some would say people simply assign emotions to a higher power behind the universe, the power of reason can also give a rational answer as to why a higher power would not simply be a mechanical force.
