Laughed At

Christians need to be ready to be laughed at in public.

Some people are quick to ridicule someone who talks about church and God in places like school or even on a jog after work.

Christians who want to start mentioning Jesus in public need to be prepared to be laughed at. Some people are quick to ridicule someone who talks about church and God in places like school or even on a jog after work. It can be embarrassing, and it is a reason some people stop mentioning their faith in public.

To prepare oneself, it is helpful to have a firm understanding of what one believes. A Christian believes in treating people the way they would want to be treated. To laugh at that is to laugh at the heart of human equality and compassion. When it comes to a belief in God, many of the greatest minds from the past to the present, including the director from the Human Genome Project, Dr. Francis Collins, have believed in God.

Most importantly, a Christian’s love for Jesus should keep them strong. Remembering that he died a terrible death after teaching people about love and compassion is one of many reasons a person shouldn’t feel ashamed if someone laughs at them for talking about their faith. It should also be remembered that while what a Christian says may cause some people to laugh, it may completely change the lives of others.

People come after anything, especially if it is something that facilitates greater good. And that is the main aim of Christianity. And I feel, we should not let any mockery of us let our morale down.

I think this has been addressed in 1 Peter 4:16

But if [one is ill-treated and suffers] as a Christian [which he is contemptuously called], let him not be ashamed, but give glory to God that he is [deemed worthy to suffer] in this name.

It can be tough sometimes but then, we shouldn't relent or let that hold us back talking about Christ.
