Christian artists are often less likely to receive awards for their work than non-Christian artists.

Of course, even a “simple” compliment is among the greatest awards, and Christians don’t work for praise in the first place, but the point here is to create an egalitarian system where Christian artists are treated the same way non-Christian artists are, and there are good reasons to have awards as well.

Christians,

Christian literature, film, and art in general isn’t as likely to win awards as secular works today. Since it is less likely for Christian art and artists to be recognized with awards, it is important for Christians to develop more of their own awards.  For individuals and organizations interested in creating awards for Christian art and artists, there are some key factors to consider.

One is longevity.  An individual or organization that is thinking about creating an award for a category of Christian art should be interested in maintaining the publication and periodic issuance of the award for the long-term.  This adds weight to the award.  Also, if an individual is interested in creating an award for a category, it can also be helpful to seek backing from an organization to also support the issuance of the award.  This also adds weight to it.   Weight refers to the value of the award, which includes the time, effort, and interest put into it.  There are other factors to consider as well, and it is worth carefully researching the topic for those who are interested in this endeavor.

Of course, even a “simple” compliment is among the greatest awards, and Christians don’t work for praise in the first place, but the point here is to create an egalitarian system where Christian artists are treated the same way non-Christian artists are, and there are good reasons to have awards as well.  We want to make sure Christian art and artists receive awards that show a similar investment of interest and respect that comparable awards show.
