Warn Each Other

Christians want to warn each other about modern heresies.

Christians want to discuss, label, and warn each other about them as soon as they are seen.

Modern heresies need to be addressed to help promote an authentic Christian culture in modern times. Modern heresies include the idea of false compassion (allowing people to harm each other without consequences), passive political sentiments (the idea of not engaging in politics), and religious containment (the idea that it is generally wrong to discuss religion outside of church).  It is valuable to catch these heresies as they arise to help keep them from spreading.  Christians want to discuss, label, and warn each other about them as soon as they are seen.

Like past heresies, these modern heresies are concepts of good that have been misunderstood or purposely twisted around.  For example, political ideas can be deceptive at times, so one might think that it is best to stay out of politics.  However, many people desiring freedom and equality have fought and sacrificed themselves so people could have the freedom to voice their opinions and play a role in making laws.  Also, prudently trying to make the right decisions in political systems can be of great benefit to both religious freedom and the general good of the public.

Likewise, false compassion is related to the good that comes from forgiveness.  However, getting rid of rules, laws, and consequences that are fair primarily enables people to mistreat each other.  Another example is the idea of religious containment. It is related to the good that comes from not forcing someone to change their religious beliefs, but the idea of not even being able to respectfully discuss religion outside of church only keeps people from learning about the love of Jesus and being able to make a personal decision about it.
