Keeping Our Minds Busy

Updated: May 4

Although a universe of information is at our fingertips, what we think about and look up is often based on the mainstream influences of society.

Many mainstream influences will keep our minds busy every day with content that has no connection to the deeper needs of the human heart. Not all of these influences are purposely trying to stop us from thinking about the deeper truths of life, but the effects can be similar in both cases. Whether intentional or not, many mainstream influences keep our minds busy with content that is devoid of thoughts about the human soul or afterlife.

Christians who look for content about God will certainly find it, but Christians are also drawn into the mainstream flow of busyness. People who were brought up without God almost never hear about him, and even when they do, it is not much different than hearing about a distant myth or legend.

Although a universe of information is at our fingertips, what we think about and look up is often based on the mainstream influences of society. Christians, we not only need to be careful not to be pulled under by the current ourselves but also help people who have been pulled under already. We need to bring Christianity to people’s attention by openly living Christian lives. This will involve joining public conversations to give Christian opinions about mainstream news, politics, education, and entertainment.
