Background Information

Since many young people today are not exposed to Christianity through society to the degree they once were, they are less likely to decide to become Christians themselves when asked to consider it.

Creating a series of inspirational YouTube videos about friends living the Christian life today is an example of how to provide young people with the kind of background information that could help them see why they would want to become Christians.

Today, a lot of young people do not have many images, stories, and models of the Christian life to pull from their minds when asked about Christianity. In past times, a young person who had not yet become Christian would have likely still had plenty of images in their mind of the Christian life based on people they personally knew on some level living out their faith; they also would have likely had plenty of images in their mind of Jesus with those in need. They would have also likely read literature with Christian themes and have had ideas in their mind about how the teachings of Jesus helped people live. Since many young people today do not have as much of that background information to consider when asked about becoming a Christian, they are more likely to say no. To help young people make informed decisions about becoming Christians, it is very helpful for them to be exposed to Christian images and models of Christian living through mainstream society over time.

Providing young people with models, stories, and images concerning Christianity over time helps them build an understanding of what Christianity is really about. Especially when this information is provided in ways that are applicable to modern life, it helps young people understand how they could become a Christian model themselves and live out the Christian life. This train of thinking authentically relates to inspirational stories that inspire people to live and think in uplifting ways.

Providing images, models, and stories concerning Christianity also relates to how people learn. Many people learn best with the help of images. This also extends to video. Many people also can relate to information better in narrative form. Learning over time is also conducive to retaining information and becoming familiar with it in a way that makes it more understandable. Creating a series of inspirational YouTube videos about friends living the Christian life today is an example of how to provide young people with the kind of background information that could help them see why they would want to become Christians.

Vlogs on YouTube are hot trend now. And just like people following random strangers sharing their lives online is inspiring people, promoting a Christian lifestyle can have the same effects. Peopel will find it then that our lifestyle is not anything that confines anyone, rather it makes us feel more like ourselves and do what brings good and only good.

Yes, I believe that most young people lack the background knowledge on what a good Christian life is like. I believe young people need to be mentored in the Christian way of life.

I tend to agree with you. This is a wonderful way of helping people both Christians and non-Christians know more about the Christian stories. I commend this idea and appreciate your effort toward spreading the faith.

I appreciate how you talk about helping young folks make "informed decisions about becoming Christians." Christianity is often cartoonish portrayed in popular media, so seeing authentic, well-rounded examples of a Christian lifestyle would definitely be beneficial!
